Reasons to choose an RTCM member

Qualified

All RTCM members have completed rigorous training including:

• Advanced Tui na theory and massage techniques
• Chinese medicine theory, application and diagnostic skills
• Western biomedical sciences: anatomy, pathology and physiology
• Many are also acupuncturists and Chinese herbalists.

Skilled

As part of their extensive academic and practical training, all RTCM members have spent at least 70 hours working in student clinics to perfect their skills under the supervision of highly experienced Tui na practitioners.

Committed

The RTCM core curriculum entails substantial commitment including the equivalent of two years self-funded study at a specialist college of Chinese medicine or university. Many members have also travelled to China to practice in specialist Tui na departments of TCM hospitals.
